We Want the Funk - EQUIFUNK

"Ow, we want the funk
Give up the funk
Ow, we need the funk
We gotta have that funk"
with apologies to George Clinton

What happens when a Dead-Head, Jam fan gets married and has a family? Does it mean no more "following the band?" Is Bonnaroo a sweet but distant memory? Well, there's no need to GIVE UP THE FUNK!

There's a FAMILY FRIENDLY alternative to the traditional jam fest. EQUIFUNK is a unique and intimate music festival that's being held on Labor Day weekend, September 4-6 2009. What makes EQUIFUNK so different? EQUIFUNK promises to be a summer camp experience, complete with sports, crafts, swimming and more PLUS it's that fun music festival atmosphere that you've been waiting for.

Nestled in the Pocono Mountains at Camp Equifunk. This music festival is an easy 2 1/2 hour drive from the New York City area, making it easy to get to from New England to Virginia.

At EQUIFUNK, friends and families can ‘bunk’ in fully renovated cabins; enjoy all meals including outdoor evening BBQs, ‘mess-hall’ breakfast buffets and lunches and poolside snacks and beverages (beer and soft drinks) throughout the day; and various camp activities including sports, gymnastics, canoeing, zipline, rock-climbing, arts & crafts and/or relaxation with music at the resort style pool. Evenings will offer fun festivities and full nights of music with the Radiators, as well as a late night show on Saturday with The New Mastersounds. Babysitting is available so parents can get their groove on!

Admission for the two-day festival is $250 per person (prices subject to change) and includes accommodations, all meals and beverages and all shows and performances. Children under 12 are free. Family events are offered daytime and babysitting services are available upon request, for a nominal fee. To purchase tickets to EQUIFUNK or for more information, please visit the website at www.equifunk.com.
