Would you like to be a merchandiser?

If you're thinking about making some extra money to help you life the good life, you might consider taking on some merchandising projects. Much like a mystery shopper, a merchandiser works on a freelance basis. What a merchandiser does is to make sure that the manufacturer's products that you represent are stocked displayed according to the plan that the company sends you. You may be working on a one time reset project or have a regular route depending upon the job. Quite often the jobs are seasonal, as companies want to MAKE CERTAIN that their products are placed where the customer can see them - especially around the holiday season.

You will be sent a plan-o-gram, which is simply a diagram showing where the products are to be placed on a store fixture. If you've ever worked in a retail store, you've probably seen or used one to stock the shelves.

Because this is a freelance position, you may want to sign up with a few different merchandising companies. In most cases, you will be treated as an independent contractor, so be sure to set aside some money for taxes (as none will be taken out of your check). Pay varies according to the job, but is generally paid based upon an hourly rate (usually $8 - $15 per hour).

Right now Best Service Merchandising is looking for merchandisers in AL, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, LA, MD, MA, MO, NJ, NC, OH, OR, PA, TX, WA and WV.
