Woman about town Samantha Brown will be taking us to the Jersey Shore this week in her all new season of "Samantha Brown's Great Weekends" show, just in time for the good weather that's to come. Of course she'll be visiting Ocean City (voted the most popular beach on the Jersey shore), as well as visiting Wildwood (at Cool Scoops) where we'll get to see her dance with Chubby Checker. Yes, we're talking that classic dance "The Twist" - for you younger folk - this was a dance we did WAY BACK when Rock & Roll was new. I'm looking forward to seeing her parasail - I'm just imagining the look on her face.
Of course, what would a trip to that area be without visiting the rock mecca of Asbury Park? She'll show us where some of the greatest rockers like "The Boss" and Bon Jovi first rocked.
I guess that Roller Derby is still alive and well - because I've been promised that we'll get to see Sam don skates and pads and join in. I wonder if she'll be a jammer? Next Sam goes from the banked track to the bark park - as she takes part in "Yappy Hour" at the Wonder-Bar. Yappy hour has become a nationwide event and we'll get to see what it's like Jersey-style.
Finally, Sam gets some one-on-one time with some idols she's had since childhood.. She'll visit the Borgata Hotel where she gets to meet up with SEO Speedwagon and Styx (watch for the back-up singer - does she have the "IT" factor?)
