GIVEAWAY - Terracycle Bird Feeder

Do you remember making homemade bird feeders out of 2 lt. soda bottles when you were a kid? We used to make them for Mother's Day gifts or at camp in the summertime. Terracycle has created the FIRST bird feeder in stores to be packaged in a re-used soda bottle. SO, it's definitely EASY being GREEN! This TerraCycle Bird Feeder comes filled with wild bird seed. All you have to do is hang the feeder outside and enjoy birds coming to your garden. TerraCycle makes the world's first line of "ultimate eco-friendly products. I spent about an hour this morning checking out all of their products at: http://www.terracycle.net/ and was amazed at all of the great stuff they're making all with recycled materials.

On to the Giveaway:
* Leave a comment telling me either what YOU are doing to be GREEN or what you would
like to see on my blog in the coming months.

What I do to be green is to recycle or reuse everything that I can. I also am trying to eliminate plastics from my life as much as possible. I don't use chemical cleaning products and always try to conserve energy. I consolidate trips to use less gas and ride my bike to the store more often.

just do what we can, conserve water, unplug and recycle however it is best for the item

I recycle everything I can, use reuseable grocery bags, conserve water and use natural cleansing products. I am also trying to get away from plastic but that is very hard to do in this day and age as many products come in plastic containers.
We also have a "victory" garden in our back yard.

We recycle all our aluminum cans.
When I'm ready to wash dishes (in sink, no dishwasher) I run the water into 2-liter soda bottles as I'm waiting for it to warm up. We use that for drinking water. That saves water and reuses plastic bottles.

I have changed the way I do lots of things in an effort to "Go Green". The biggest being, removing all the grass in my yard and replacing it with cinders, a by product of the coal industry. It really makes life easier as well as green without a single blade of grass.

We've been most successful with letting the car sit in the driveway. We shop and run errands in the car once per month, and we mostly walk for other trips (unless the weather is really bad...we are older now).

In the past, other than not littering, I haven't done much to help clean-up Mother Earth. For the last couple years I have taken much more notice on whats going on with Mother Earth. I recycle cans,
I have over time changed all our light bulbs over to enery saver bulbs (the energy saver bulbs are more costly so I changed over a few at a time) and I have started to recycle our paper. They say, every little bit helps. Thank you

I have always been pretty thrify and recycled. An old lady friend in Florida got me recycling and composting when I was first married. She was originally from Maine - those thriftiest of folks.

I do things like buy 20 pounds of chicken breasts when they are on sale for $1.99/pound. Then I bag them up in Ziplocs 4 breasts to a bag. This way I save money and avoid putting all that packaging in the trash (although I do recycle most of it.)

I also take my magazines to the recycling center after I read them and my shredded office paper. We have curbside reycling for everything else (glass, plastic, aluminum, steel, newspaper, cardboard, etc.) which is really nice.

I live on just over an acre with lots of bird friends. They would be delighted to have another feeder to fight over.

Thanks for having the giveaway.

I don't eat meat, I use all-natural cleaning and self-care products. I re-cycle, and try to keep my electricity use down, especially my heat and air-conditioning (use my ceiling fan whenever possible). I use re-cycled toilet paper and paper towels. I bring bags to the supermarket and try to limit my use of plastic bags. I take short showers most of the time and I don't flush the toilet every time I use it! Also, I try to be nice to people and animals.

Lovely little feeder; wonderful site. What better way to stay green than to incorporate our animal caretaking?

I'd like to see more articles on inexpensive ways to expose our children to the arts. My son is in a local theatre which is great but he is interested in music and the piano lessons are killing me! For a family of three , it's over 60 to go the movies. To visit an amusement park is like a big major vacation. Any cost saving ideas for families interested in the arts?
My heart breaks when I see little children that may never be able to go to a Broadway show , a baseball game or a museum because of the expense.

I feed the birds with her "crust" on her sandwiches. She likes to save them until the next morning - its a morning ritual now. We do this everyday, this is teaching her how to conserve, the best gift we can give our future generation is that EVERYTHING they do CAN make a difference.
