Check out why I'm in Good Humor today

I remember the days when the Good Humor ice cream truck would drive up and down the streets in my neighborhood with the bell ringing. I think that they used to start making their rounds the last few weeks of the school year (just in time to get us excited). We'd beg for .25 to buy a chocolate eclair or strawberry shortcake on a stick. I haven't seen a Good Humor truck in YEARS (I haven't seen an ice cream truck in years) and I'm guessing that the price of an individual ice cream from a truck has quadrupled since then. Sometimes I wish they'd come into my neighborhood, just so I can run outside to the curb, and excitedly look over all of the varieties listed on the outside of the truck and have to decide WHICH of these treats I want.

Fast forward about forty years or so and I still crack a smile when I think about Good Humor ice cream bars and sandwiches. They hold a combination of great memories and flavors that are distinct and delicious. From my favorite cake coated ice cream with the chocolate flavored fudge center to the classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich I still enjoy their treats. I've found myself at the warehouse store buying the variety pack on many an occasion. My excuse? They're for "the kids" - LOL (yeah, the BIG KID).

I know it's back to school time, but I remember being able to E-X-T-E-N-D the summer a bit, and having a Good Humor bar when you get home from school was the way that we always liked the best.

This week, I enjoyed a multi-pak of Toasted Almond. Why? It was a birthday treat for Mr. S. He used to LOVE their coconut bars and this was as close as I could get (Note to Good Humor - please bring back those incredible coconut bars, we miss them). Whether it's "for the kids" or the grown-ups who enjoy being a kid, Good Humor is still around making us smile.

Don't forget to enter the Good Humor Sweet-stakes. for the chance to win one of 10,000 instant win prizes. There are specially makes Good Humor Chocolate Eclairs, Toasted Almond, Strawberry Shortcake and Candy Center Crunch bars.

You can follow the Good Humor Ice Cream Truck on Facebook and chase the truck!

I received a free multi-pack of ice cream bars from Good Humor and Mom Bloggers Club for this review. I was in no way compensated. The opinions - strictly my own!
