If you’ve earned under $49,000 you may be eligible to claim the EITC as receive free tax preparation assistance. 2. The Web Connector! During these tough economic times, learn about what programs and services you may be eligible for by using WE Connect’s special online screening tool. If you have family in other states, be sure to tell them about the Federal Web Connector, also available at www.WEconnect.net.

3. Extra, Extra! Read all about it! In partnership with La Opinion, the largest bilingual newspaper in the country, WE Connect developed a 24 page, bilingual directory of programs and services available to low-income individuals and families. To get a copy, visit www.WEconnect.net.

4. More Tips! In partnership with organizations, such as the California Health Care Foundation, WE Connect has developed a series of 10 tips around programs and services that may help individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet, looking for work or for affordable healthcare options. WE Connect is a public/private partnership designed to help the nation’s working families become more financially secure by connecting them to important programs and resources. Many of these programs, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and the Women, Infant and Children’s Program (WIC), are available to individuals and families, but are underutilized. This nationwide campaign connects those eligible with the information and tools they need to access these valuable resources, empowering them to live their dreams.

WE Connect has reached over 19 million individuals and families since its inception five years ago. The 2010 WE Connect Weekend events in Fresno and Los Angles served over 45 thousand families, distributed over 280 lbs of food and put thousands of dollars back into the pockets of families who need it most.
