A Valentine's Day impression - Red Envelope & Pro Flowers

Confession time! It's not that I don't like Valentine's Day... I DO, but I NEVER know what to buy. Oh, I pick up interesting gifts for my friends & family here and there, but I just give them to them right away. Then I'm faced with days like February 14th. I mean, what do you buy for a guy (or a woman) without spending DAYS running from store to store looking for that PERFECT gift? That's a lot of pressure.


This year, I ordered gifts from Red Envelope. Now I'm taking a gamble that my recipients don't read my blog every day (as a matter of fact I KNOW that they only come on every now and then), so I'm going to spill the beans.

"B" just got a brand new bedroom set. He and his fiancé "S" recently moved into a new apartment. I don't know why I asked this, but I wanted to know if he owned a pair of slippers. Maybe it's because I hadn't owned slippers in YEARS and recently bought a pair (making me realize just how much I missed walking around the house in comfort). He said that he can't ever remember owning a pair. Wait, does that make me a terrible mother? I never bought my son slippers. So...off to Red Envelope I went to purchase not just a pair of slippers, but a MONOGRAMMED pair (Heart 'n Sole slippers). With visions of him in a smoking jacket and slippers (a la Hugh Heffner), I pressed "SEND."

Now, my problem is this....how do I get Mr. "S" to buy me one of these thoughtful Valentine's Day gifts  that I just fell in love with on the Red Envelope site? Do I just leave the screen on my laptop OPEN facing him in the morning when he wakes up (WITH A GIANT ARROW)? He's not too good in the hint department. Hmmm....
