Hey, every little bit HELPS! An extra $250 in my wallet in late May from the new Stimulus Package is going to be a VERY welcome addition to living the good life for less. I'm planning on doing MY part to stimulate the economy!Here's what I've heard. Those of us who are getting Social Security Benefits either from retirement, disability, SSI, etc. will be getting a check for $250 in late May of this year. Children qualify for the $250 Social Security payment only if they are getting disabled adult child benefits.
They're planning on sending the money the same way that you get your check now. So, if you get your money via direct deposit, expect your stimulus check to come that way as well.
If you don't get your $250 Social Security check by the end of May 2009, you may contact SSA (not the IRS) directly. Only individuals eligible for Social Security, SSI, Veterans, or Railroad Retirement benefits at any time during the months of November 2008, December 2008, or January 2009 may be eligible for the one-time payment.
