Get your kicks - with Samantha Brown

Get your kicks on Route 66....that's just what Sam is doing in Thursday's episode of Sam's Great American Road trips on the Travel Channel.

Come along with Samantha Brown as she travels down Route 66 from Albuquerque to Arizona. You'll be taking in some breathtaking scenery right along with her as she heads to New Mexico where she is welcomed by a classic red convertible and lots of car lovers .  Am I jealous? Absolutely!!! I can see myself in that hot looking car traveling down the "Mother Road." Oh my, I heard she actually picks up some musicians from Route 66 Hostel. In lieu of chipping in gas money, Sam gets some free entertainment along the way. From there she heads to the El Rancho Hotel in Gallup (which is the Indian cultural center of the Southwest) - ah...the bright nights of NEON are calling.

Continuing down the road to Arizona, Sam stops atthe Snow Cap Diner, known for the owners' practical jokes.  I can picture the corny jokes as she gets to work behind the counter, waiting on customers.  Sam takes the windy trip down Oatman Road, one of the most famous stretches of Route 66, stopping at  the living ghost town of Oatman.  A little of the "Old West" comes to life as Sam takes a little shooting practice (all I can say is "DUCK"), and ends her trip in Arizona with one of the most spectacular views in the world: the sunrise over the Grand Canyon.  Join her on her helicopter ride as she takes in the breathtaking scenery.

For more about Sam's Great American Road Trip or her jump off one of the highest cliffs in the world, watch the Travel Channel on Thursday, May 20th, at 10:00 E/P.

Don't forget to  to check out Samantha Brown's Great Weekends Facebook Page for updates about what Sam will be doing next!
