Gift Baskets for the holiday season - Hickory Farms

The holidays are approaching a LOT faster than I'd like. To say that I'm unprepared would be a gross understatement. Thanksgiving is only3 days away, followed by Chanukah two weeks after that.

Have I bought ANYTHING yet? - Absolutely not.

Am I panicking? - Where's the paper bag? I'm beginning to hyperventilate.

Of course I'll be one of the fools standing in line on Black Friday, BUT I won't be able to get EVERYTHING that I need (but I will be reporting about my experience).

What about those people that live back in New England (you know, the one's that I refer to as Dad, Cousin, etc)??? I have to have something for them.

PLUS - I won't be attending our family Thanksgiving again this year, because it's being held in Connecticut and Mr. S doesn't want to leave Florida (by the way, it's HIS family we're talking about here). So, what do I do to just say "I'm thinking about you?"

In the past, I've always thought of a gift basket as something you send after a funeral. Weird huh? I was SO not the gift basket type. That was until Hickory Farms sent me this AWESOME Hickory Handyman Tool Bag filled with:

- 12 oz. Our Original Beef Summer Sausage
- 12 oz Spicy Savory Beef Summer Sausage
- 7 oz. Ham Summer Sausage
- 8 oz. Mini Beef Sausage Snacks
- 3.6 oz. Beef Sausage Snacks
- 3.6 oz Spicy Beef Sausage Snacks
- 10 oz. Hickory Cheddar Blend
- 10 oz. Jalapeno & Cheddar Blend
- 7 oz. Mission Jack Blend
- 6 oz. Smoked Gouda Blend
- 10 oz. Sweet Hot Mustard
- 5 oz. Golden Toasted Crackers
- 5 oz. Cracked Wheat Crackers

Here's what shocked me. Nothing comes refrigerated, yet everything was so fresh tasting. How do they do it? I'm a mouse when it comes to cheese and I think that I ate the ENTIRE 10 oz. bar of Jalepeno & Cheddar Blend by myself....oh, and if you haven't tasted their Sweet Hot Mustard, you're taste buds are in for a MAJOR treat. Mr. S LOVES the Summer Sausages, so between the two of us, we've just dived right in and enjoyed every bite. Thanks to Hickory Farms and MomCentral I'm all set with appetizers for ALL of the major holidays, plus I realized that it's going to be a great gift when I send one up north for the family to enjoy instead of the USUAL flower arrangement.

Check out that overstuffed tote that I got (in the picture). The tool bag itself can be used after for gardening supplies, a picnic bag or of course for tools. There was even a cute bottle opener (at least that's what I THINK it is) sewn in on the side (so I'll be using it to take to the beach armed with lotions, sunglasses, etc).

You all know how much I like supporting companies that give back in some way, shape or form. For a limited time, Hickory Farms will donate $5 to Share Our Strength, a leading national non-profit organization working to end childhood hunger in America on 40 items from their catalog this holiday season. Additionally, for 40 of these gift items, Hickory Farms provides free military shipping, allowing our troops across the globe to share in holiday traditions.

By the way, I was shopping over at the Hickory Farms site just now and realized - HEY I CAN HAVE THEM SEND ME A TURKEY (or a ham) if I order before noon tomorrow. Whew, no need for me to panic now.

Gift boxes/baskets start at only $15.00, so you'll EASILY find a gift that fits your budget. Visit hickoryfarms.com to learn more about these two opportunities as well as the variety of gift boxes available!

Now I just need to pop open a bottle of the bubbly to go along with these great meats & cheeses & I'll be in heaven.

"I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Hickory Farms and received a Hickory Farms gift basket to facilitate my review."
